Digital Land that is.
Unless you have been completly off of the internet and off of social media, and away from politics, you may have heard about the looming TikTok ban that will be happening this weekend.
So many people who use it for entertainment are bummed, but the people who use it to make money are downright terrified.
How will they make money?
After all they've built their engaged audience and were able to secure brand deals and sell their products and services from this one app!
But if nothing changes TikTok will be no more,
They recently announces that the app will literally stop working by this Sunday.
So what does that mean for you?
If you don't run your business on TikTok or get customers from there then this means nothing of course.
BUT if you rely on ANY social media platform to communicate with your customers then this means everything.
Own Your Audience, Build Your List
When I work with clients we usualy spend the first 1-2 sessions working on building their email list:
Creating a lead magnet
Setting up email sequences
And figuring out how to get their audience off of whatever social media platform they are using and on to their list.
I can't stress how important it is to be able to take your audience with you no matter where you are or what platform you are using.
Without a list, you are left vulnerable. If TikTok is banned, or Instagram is down, Facebook doesn't let you advertise, how will you make money?
Bottom line: Build your email list and you'll never go broke.
